The NASCAR Foundation’s Cancer Heroes initiative is a heartfelt effort to honor and celebrate those impacted by cancer. It offered fans the unique chance to bid and have their personal hero’s name featured on a NASCAR driver’s car, shining a light on stories of strength, courage, and hope. Proceeds from the event support vital cancer research and patient care, making each tribute even more impactful.
Stacey and Erik Rees were deeply honored to win the opportunity to have Jessie’s name proudly displayed on Corey LaJoie’s car. They chose Corey for his compassionate heart and commitment to spreading joy and encouragement to kids fighting cancer. Corey has visited hospitals with pediatric cancer units to encourage kids fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up and even had a NEGU racecar last year for 6 races!
Erik shared, “Both Stacey and I felt very honored to see Jessie’s name on his car, and he did well during the race, which was fun.” Watching Corey finish 15th added to the excitement, but the moment held extra meaning for the Rees family, especially since September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
This special race theme was meaningful and inspiring for everyone involved, creating moments of remembrance and celebration for heroes who inspire us daily. Corey LaJoie’s continued partnership with NEGU highlights his dedication to encourage every child fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up, making it even more meaningful to see him representing Jessie on the track!
