We could not fulfill Jessie’s mission without the help of incredible volunteers around the nation. Check out this story on one of our incredible volunteers that is helping us spread joy, Mike!

MIKE

Q: How and when did you first hear about the Jessie Rees Foundation?

A: I first heard during Holiday season 2014 – I heard Erik being interviewed on a San Diego sports radio segment and thought wow this would be a good use to my time to volunteer.

Q: How often do you visit the JoyFactory?

A: I try to come once a week or try to get hear whenever I can.

Q:What duties have you had while volunteering at the Jessie Rees Foundation JoyFactory?

A: Taking packages out, putting labels on Jars and putting jars together. Whatever they need me to do I will do!

Q: Most memorable JoyJar you’ve stuffed?

A: They are all memorable, but I think its cool to read about what each kid likes and prefers. I can just imagine being in their shoes so I like to make it special for them.

Q: If you could choose a crayon color to describe yourself what would it be?

A: Red because it’s flashy!

Q: If you were on an island and could only bring 3 items, what would they be?

A: Soccer ball, best friend, my phone

Q: What’s a favorite memory of yours while volunteering at the foundation?

A: Just being here and meeting people has been so rewarding. Everyone is here for such a great cause.

Q:If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

A: Make kids not sick!!!

Q:Would you rather (Jessie loved these!)… only be able to whisper or only be able to shout for the rest of your life?

A: SHOUT! I don’t like whispering!
