The Jessie Rees Foundation’s JOY Squad is on a JOY mission, stopping at Children’s Hospitals nationwide to spread a little love, JOY and encouragement to the kids in treatment. The most recent stop–Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago!
Kaitlin Sandeno, National Spokesperson for the Jessie Rees Foundation showed up to the hospital doorsteps–hands full of JoyJars for each of the children! JoyJars were delivered to each of the children’s bedside.
JoyJars, jars filled with hospital approved toys and activities, were founded by Jessie Rees, 12-year old founder of the Jessie Rees Foundation. While in her own treatment for cancer at Children’s Hospital Orange County, Jessie wanted to help the other kids–kids that did not get to leave the hospital. Starting from brown paper bags, Jessie’s idea of a special gift for kids fighting cancer, has now become a global campaign to support children fighting cancer all over the world.
Before Jessie earned her wings in January, 2012, she had personally stuffed and sent over 3,000 JoyJars to kids in children’s hospitals. Currently Jessie’s JoyJars have been delivered to over 200 Children’s Hospitals, with over 50,000 recipients of her JoyJars and her personal message to all kids–NEGU–Never Ever Give Up!
Help support Jessie’s wish of encouraging all kids fighting cancer to NEGU- Never Ever Give Up.
