We are so honored to have the support of Olympians, professional, collegiate and elite youth athletes. These wonderful “AllStars” help us encourage kids across the country to Never Ever Give Up, just like Jessie wanted! Each member of our AllStar team uses their social media platform to share Jessie’s NEGU message and supports Courageous Kids fighting cancer in the hospital by visiting them and spreading joy.
NEGU AllStar Skip Schumaker’s Annual Winter NEGU Baseball Camp benefitting the Jessie Rees Foundation was a huge hit! More than 95 kids had a wonderful time playing with NEGU AllStars and learning the fundamentals of baseball. They were taught by the best for 2 days, including Skip Schumaker, Nick Punto, Danny Espinosa and Trayce Thompson. The kids ran drills, played games, and were treated to lunch each day from Jerry’s Dogs and Jersey Mike’s.
Skill development, team games and scrimmages are just a few of the NEGU camp highlights put on by AllStar Skip Schumaker. The campers are placed in their own age group and groups rotate throughout the day to different stations – pitching, catching, infield, outfield, etc. Camp attendees are taught the fundamentals of the game. It’s a great day full of baseball and Never Ever Give Up attitudes! Even our very own NEGU Ambassador Cade was there.
This well-run camp raised almost $19,000 to help encourage Courageous Kids fighting cancer to NEVER EVER GIVE UP! Thank you to everyone who participated… THANK YOU to Mission Viejo Diablos Baseball team members, Capo Valley Baseball team members, Saddleback College Baseball team members, Jersey Mike’s, Jerry’s Dogs, Skip Schumaker, Nick Punto, Danny Espinosa, Trayce Thompson and of course the Courageous families that participated. Thank you to Saddleback College, Mission Viejo High, Capo Valley High and J Serra for lending us some of your baseball players to assist. We appreciate you so much!
It is such an honor to see the community come together with these amazing Jessie Rees Foundation AllStars to make a massive difference for Courageous Kids impacted by childhood cancer.
We are truly better together. NEGU!
