At just 16 years old, Keegan Sobilo from New Baltimore, Michigan, is racing toward more than just victory laps. A rising star in the world of car racing, Keegan is making a name for himself not only as a talented driver but also as a passionate advocate for children fighting cancer.

Keegan’s journey on the racetrack began when he was only 8 years old. “It was challenging at first, and I didn’t have much experience. Then, I tried to learn as much as I could,” Keegan recalls. His determination paid off as he progressed from Junior Late Model racing to winning championships in the Sportsman Late Model category.

Remarkably, Keegan has achieved these milestones without yet having his driver’s license. Keegan, who currently holds a learner’s permit, is approved to race with a competitor license. His racing journey is a family affair—his dad Roman is the team owner, and his grandma Theresa and mom Hillary cheer him on as Keegan’s biggest fans.

Keegan’s racing endeavors are driven by more than just a love for the speedway. His car proudly displays the Team NEGU logo in hopes of spreading awareness for kids to “Never Ever Give Up.” He races in memory of his maternal grandma, who battled cancer.

Racing for a cause has given Keegan a sense of purpose beyond the track. “Just bringing light into different kids’ worlds means a lot to me,” he shares. Keegan’s choice to use his car hood for good shows how young people can make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Keegan’s story is one of resilience and courage. After experiencing a terrifying crash a few years ago, his mother, Hillary, finds it too stressful to watch him race. Despite the dangers, Keegan continues to compete, always saying a prayer before each event and focusing on the task at hand once the green flag drops.

As Keegan prepares to take his driving test this summer, his family looks forward to his continued success and impact. His journey is a testament to the power of determination, family support, and the desire to make a positive difference in the world.

Keegan’s story reminds us that no matter our age, we have the power to help others, just like Jessie did at a young age. His commitment to racing and supporting children with cancer is an inspiring example of how kids can help kids, bringing hope and light to those who need it most.
