PRESS RELEASE:: THE JESSIE REES FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES TO SPREAD JOY TO CHILDREN FIGHTING LIFE THREATENING ILLNESSES

Mission Viejo, Cal., (March 28, 2012) – The Jessie Rees Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) unite to spread joy and hope to children battling life threatening illnesses. Through this partnership, Jessie’s JoyJars™ (filled with toys, games, clothing, stickers, and several other items intended to bring smiles to sick children) will be sent to all 175 RMHC homes across America.

JoyJars™, and the Jessie Rees Foundation came to life on April 8, 2011. This not only was Jessie’s 12th birthday, it was also the day she shared with her mom and dad that she wanted to find a way to encourage every kid fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up (NEGU) by empowering them with hope, joy and love. This simple little thought has become Jessie’s Wish. She dreamed of the day that her little motto would become an inspiring message of hope to every child and family. Her dream is what drives her foundation.

RHMC’s vision – We believe that when you change a child’s life, you change a family’s, which can change a community, and ultimately the world. We strive to be part of that change and part of the solution in improving the lives of children and their families by providing programs that strengthen families during their most difficult and challenging times – couldn’t align more seamlessly with Jessie’s wish.

Jessie’s daddy, Erik Rees, stated, “We are honored to partner with such a prestigious, compassionate charity as RMHC. Their commitment to helping hurting children and families is like no other, and we made it our top charity of choice to spread joy with. We know Jessie’s JoyJars will provide a great boost of hope, joy and love to all children staying in Ronald McDonald homes as their families walk these trying times with them. That was Jessie’s wish and we are grateful to RMHC for helping us make that come true.”

Jessie fulfilled her wish in the 10 months she lived with cancer – she changed lives, inspired others, and helped bring joy to kids/families suffering even in the midst of her own struggle. This partnership will help Jessie’s dream continue.
