NEGU AllStar T.J. Collett, has been named the Gatorade Indiana High School Baseball Player of the Year! Not only is T.J. an awesome baseball player on the field, he has an incredible heart for Courageous Kids fighting cancer off the field. He volunteers and fundraises for the Jessie Rees Foundation. 

Through various local fundraising activities, Collett has personally raised more than $5,000 for the Jessie Rees Foundation.

“It’s super, super important to me,” said Collett, who has had a catcher’s mitt embroidered with NEGU on the heel to use this spring. “I realize that those kids are in a really tough fight, and I just wanted to do anything I could to help.”

In 24 games this season, the University of Kentucky signee is hitting .466 with six homers and 17 RBI. In 119 career games at Terre Haute North, Collett is a .435 career hitter. He’s had 130 hits, 35 homers and 134 RBI during his prep career.

He is the first player ever from Terre Haute, Indiana to win this Gatorade Player of the Year honor, joining incredible athletes and MLB players Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones and more.
