Photo: My Jessie Journal:: I Sweet Pea, it’s daddy! I happy to report your silly daddy is doing better mentally, emotionally and feeling good physically today. I wish I could say the same for your little bro. JT has been really missing you. I think part of it has to do with being by himself now when Shaya goes to practice or out with her friends. JT missing having you to play with. Playing Lego’s by yourself is not as fun as building with you. You two use to build for hours and have fun.

There is now a massive gap between 11 and 16…that was you. You would be 14 right now and I’m sure not wanting to play Lego’s as much but you always gave JT your time. I love this picture because it shows a big sister caring for her little brother at such a young age. I thank you for that Jess. You always gave everyone your time and your touch. I miss your hugs and hands. That’s one of the many special things that made you so amazing…you gave to others at an age that typically says “it’s all about me”.

JT asked me the other day when a “cure” is going to be found so more brothers don’t lose their sisters. That was so heartbreaking to hear. I truly wish I could give him an answer. I see so many charities raising money for a cure but still no big changes in treatments. There are been some but not much. Some have been around for 10-20 years and have raised millions of dollars…still not much to report. When St. Jude’s told me they have spent over 20 years trying to find a cure for your tumor I was blown away…the biggest children’s hospital in the US and nothing after 27 years. That’s crazy!!!

Truthfully, I’m so glad when I asked you what you wanted your foundation to be about…cure or care…you said, “Care daddy”. I love being on the care side and asking people to help spread hope, joy and love so we can provide emotional care today to kids fighting cancer. I think people like to see their money impacting kids in need now rather than hoping the cure needle moves forward. I truly do hope the cure people put us out of business…that would be a great day. Until that time, I promise to keep going and giving to kids and families so they can be encouraged to Never Ever Give Up!

Please ask God to send some extra doses of strength to JT…we are still trying to find a “new normal” for him. He just feels lost some days without you. We all do=(((.

Miss you tons, love you more….see you in a wink. I promise!
