My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea…I love you! I know you know that because I tell you it everyday=). Mommy, Shaya, JT and I were shopping and saw some Peeps…you loved getting Peeps in our Easter basket. You really didn’t like eating them but you sure thought they were cute and fun. So in honor of you we bought some for you. Shaya found some called “Peeps on a stick”…you would have loved these. Four color Peeps stacked on a stick and easy to eat. We got you some of those too. We even got a new Lego house set in honor of you and will be building it on Sunday.

Easter kicks off our season of “2nd”. People say the “1st” are hard….I think the “2nd” are just as gut wrenching. This will be your 2nd Easter away from us. Then on April 8th we celebrate your 14th birthday…the 2nd bday with you away. These days are bitter-sweet…bitter because of the knots in our stomach and sweet because we can think about great times with you. I’m sure we will make you a big cake and blow out 14 candles. We will also release 14 balloons in honor of you. I love this picture of us when you were having your “1st” swim lessons. Some 1st are wonderful…like the day you were born=))).

As you can see from last weeks comments to my note…you fans will NEVER stop supporting you and the thousands of kids fighting cancer around the world. They help me with my pain just like they helped you with yours. We are so blessed Jess to have so many people supporting your JoyJars. The JoySquad is up to 360. That’s just 140 people away from getting 500 members by your birthday. I know we will do it. I’m asking everyone I know to join Jessie and help us reach these innocent kids. 46 more today=(. We are also getting ready to start some new NEGU programs in celebration of your birthday…these are just for kids fighting cancer so we can make sure they are encouraged to Never Ever Give Up, just like you wanted…NEGU Power Packs (fun stuff to emPOWER them to stay strong), NEGU Sports Dreams (one-of-a-kind sports experiences for kids all because you loved sports) and NEGU Room Makeovers (because you loved your makeover)…some amazing ladies have stepped up to volunteer their talents and time to make these happen for kids. We are starting locally and moving nationally just like we did with your JoyJars. JoyJars are now being sent to children’s hospitals in 15 countries…amazing!

Jess, you know I would do anything to have you back but that’s not going to happen so I will do everything I can to make sure EVERY child fighting cancer is encouraged, supported and resourced to Never Ever Give Up. Your “wish” is working and NEGU is truly giving kids fighting cancer something to believe in as they battle for their lives.

Please help Brendan get settled into his new room. I’m sure you have already met him. He joined you two days ago after his fight with DIPG. Ask God to send extra comfort to his mommy, daddy and sister too.

Miss you tons…love you more…see you in a “wink”…I promise!

xoxo,
daddy
