Mobile JoyLab Comes to CHOC!

Dec_Mobile Joy lab

Right in time for some holiday cheer, the Jessie Rees Foundation opened its very own Mobile JoyLab where we bring our own mini JoyFactory right to the hospitals so kids in treatment can stuff their very own JoyJars!

We celebrated the opening of our Mobile JoyLab at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) this December with members of our teamNEGU All-Stars, members of our Junior Board and some very special kids!

Child Life Specialist, Amber Chavez, tells us about the kids’ reactions to our Mobile JoyLab, “ I think Dec_Mobile Joy Lab 3it was really beneficial that they got to choose their own items for their JoyJars. When kids are in the hospital, they never get to make choices on the medicines they take, the surgeries they need, how many times they get poked etc so having them make their own Joyjar provided these patients the opportunity to do just that-decide what they wanted! A simple act can make a big difference”.

A big thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at CHOC for allowing us this special opportunity and thank to all of the courageous kids and families who joined us for this joyful day!!
