We love hearing from Courageous Kids and Families who Never Ever Give Up! We received this from Kye’s courageous momma: “In July of 2017 Kye got rather sick and the doctors in our home town couldn’t figure out why he wouldn’t get better. My mommy gut told me to seek out the specialists at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. Within 4 hours of our arrival in the emergency department, he was admitted to the Oncology floor. The very next day Dr. Heym told me he was rather certain that Kye had Leukemia. It was a shock to everyone in the family. After his bone marrow biopsy on July 31, 2017, it was confirmed that my 3 year old little boy had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Treatment began the following day. Everything went rather quick. After we were able to get Kye’s pain under control, he turned back into the silly little boy that touches everyone’s heart. His chemo is going really well and he is considered low risk for it coming back in the future! He began maintenance just a couple of weeks ago and is still as bonkers as always. Most of the time, you’d never know he’s sick even though his counts remain low. Kye always loves spending time at the hospital because he gets to see all of his friends!

Kye loves Superheroes, Mickey Mouse, PJ Masks, fishing, and even loves school! I think that’s what he misses the most. Luckily, his teacher, Mrs. Debbie, comes to see him when she can.”
