Kellan was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma Thanksgiving weekend of 2015 after his dad noticed a lump on his abdomin. After the shock of diagnosis and treatment plan wore off, Kellan took the attitude of “let’s get to work and get this thing out of me”. He had 11 rounds of chemo. 5 pre surgery, 6 post. The surgery to resect the tumor lasted 10 hours (the longest most nerve racking 10 hours of his parents lives) and left him with a battel scar lining his entire stomach. Kellan took the treament like a champ. Once the side effects began to take hold he fought through them never really showing signs of ill feelings. Physically you knew he was fighting something but he never led on to feeling icky.

His mom Tracy says, “Kellan was an inspiration to all the other kidos and parents on the cancer floor at the hospital with his play in the play room and racing nurses down the hallways on scooters. He is now our family’s inspiration for when things get tough. There is nothing he deosn’t feel he can accomplish after his journey fighting and ultimately beating cancers a.. He just received his 1 year scans and test results back and everything is good to go. No signs of relapse, no signs of cancer. Kellan and our family couldnt have done it without the thoughts and prayers of many friends and family. It is God’s grace and mercy that made all of this possible. A few battle cries or statements that came out of Kellans journey are “Kellan Strong”, “Anything’s Possible”, “We Got This”. Kellan did something no one should have to at an age when play and loving life should be the only concern. And he did it with determination, grit, resolve and guts you would expect to see from a hightly trained warrior. Fitting since the meaning of the name Kellan is “mighty warrior”.”

Kellan loves: Swimming, riding bikes, playing video games, building things (legos), superheros, make believe.

KELLAN WE NEGU FOR YOU!!! STAY SUPER STRONG DUDE!!!
