JoyDrop: A Hug… a High Five!

joydrop-logocontinued…

I had all sorts of unexpected problems face me, my family, and our foundation. When aren’t problems unexpected? I think all of them are. Like me, you probably don’t wake up in the morning expecting problems to enter your life. But unfortunately they do, so we have to deal with them and defeat them.

Sure, pain entered my life more than I had hoped for a year ago, but we have to face our pain just as we do our problems. I have learned pain is inevitable, but misery is optional. We don’t have to let problems and pain paralyze us from moving forward. We can experience great hope, joy, and love in the midst of pain if we allow these good things in. These sources of strength enter my life mainly through my family and friends. I love when people give me a hug and high five when they know I’m not having the best of days. Physical touch and words of affirmation fuel my fire to fight and face the pain and problems in my life.

What about you? What gives you strength when you feel weak? Maybe you enjoy a good hug and high five too. Maybe it’s something else that fuels your fire to fight. Whatever it is… find ways to get it! I also encourage you to find ways to give it too. Do you know someone who was beaten up by 2016, someone who could use a hug or high five? I bet you do. I know I do. Let’s both commit to using the last days of 2016 to encourage and support those who need it.

You in? I hope so!

NEGU,
