To 4-year-old Joaquin, NEGU means he is going to fight this cancer fight and that his family is going to be beside him every step. As his mom says, he is simply amazing and he loves like no other.
Joaquin was born with Down syndrome. Yet he has beaten the odds. He surprises his family with his strength. He is feisty and up for challenges, but the first to say sorry followed by a hug. Joaquin was diagnosed with Leukemia HR ALL cancer on August 7, 2017. His mom Michele says, “Once again, we learned that our child is so much stronger than his parents. He has been a trooper through all the pokes, the chemo meds, procedures. He is our heart and makes our family complete. I never knew how someone so small, could be so strong. His smile lights up a room and his laugh is infectious. He has a big attitude and stubborness that is helping him through this battle. He has his #JoaquinsWarriors constantly praying for him.”
When Joaquin received his Jessie’s JoyJars at home, he was so excited to see bubbles and he loved the car and hat. He was so excited to take all the surprises out of the jar! Michele says, the Jessie Rees Foundation has “Helped us feel that we are not alone in this fight. Anything that makes him smile these days is a welcome relief.“
Joaquin, we NEGU for you! Stay strong and keep smiling!!!
