My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea, it’s daddy=). I miss you so much and love you tons more. I also love being “Jessie’s daddy”…a role I will forever cherish. I was watching this video of you this morning…I love hearing your voice. I miss it so much! You were such a goof ball that day. I remember holding my phone and thinking to myself…I will cherish this video forever! I also love spread hope, joy and love to kids impacted by cancer so they never feel alone. I’m so grateful you left me with something to focus on while we are separated for this time. I just don’t know if I could keep going if I didn’t have this amazing privilege.
I was speaking with a mom yesterday that recently had her child move to Heaven…she said her and her husband just try to get through each day for their two other kids but “life seems so meaningless now”. I totally get that statement and feeling…I think life would feel meaningless if I didn’t have something to hold on to. I was thinking about finding ways to use your foundation to help families find something to hold on to. Your statement, “How can we help them?” is always in my mind when I see families in so much pain.
Another mom I was talking to a few weeks ago told me all about her 9 year old son who is also with you. He loved magic so we are looking at creating special edition JoyJars that have some basic magic trick items in them so kids can learn magic and then perform their magic for their nurses in the hospitals. The mom was so thankful we would help her find a way to honor her son. Not quiet sure how we will pay for all of this but I just know helping families find ways to honor and hold on to their child is important and where NEGU takes on a totally different meaning.
Jess, the new iNEGU app is in what they call “Beta” mode, which means I have it on my phone and testing it. So amazing to take an idea and make it a reality. It’s going to be so great to have this new resource to encourage kids, sibs and parents to NEGU through video messages. We are also creating a fun video series called Mr. Moe who will also send messages of encouragement through iNEGU. So now mommy, Shaya, JT, Moe and I will be sending video encouragements each week. Not to mention the ones from professional athletes and celebrities. It looks like Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Garner, Mike Trout, Clay Matthews and Clayton Kershaw will be joining the iNEGU team. WOW!!!!!! It’s going to be so cool Jess=))). All because you asked, “How can we help them?”
Even though I still walk with a limp no one can see and have a soul that screams in pain that no one can hear…I have the honor of continuing your mission, which gets me out of bed every day!
See you in a wink Sweet Pea! Promise!!!!
xoxo,
daddy
