My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea, it’s daddy! I know you know that but I just love saying “I’m your daddy”. No one else in this world has the honor of being Jessie’s daddy….Sure you are in Heaven cheering for me but I’m your earthly daddy and I love it!
The last couple of weeks have been hard on many levels and some days I truly wish we just were stuffing JoyJars in the garage again. It was so simple back then. Even though things have been challenging we remain prayerful and hopeful. Rest assured, Mommy, Shaya, JT and I are 100% committed to spreading as much joy as possible each and every day in your honor. No matter if it’s from our garage=).
Speaking of prayer, 6 years ago I took you to a special service at church and had a few thousand people pray for you. This picture reminds me constantly that at the end of the day, I’m not in charge or in control. I just have to be faithful and trust there is a master plan.
Talk about faithful, Mommy and Shaya were just in Lexington, Kentucky spreading joy with the UK Baseball team. They are both so faithful to your mission. Mommy said the trip was “amazing”. The head coach even talked about your JoyJars on national TV during an interview. We are looking for more ways to engage college sports teams to deliver JoyJars with us. How cool would it be for the Courageous Kids to have JoyJars delivered by their local heroes. That would be so great!
Speaking of Heroes…remember when you were won a CNN Hero Award? I sure do and was reminded about it last week when I was watching The Voice, which is a show on TV that is like a singing competition. This amazing singer sang Diamond by Rihanna. It was the song that was played for your CNN Award tribute. The song is more about “love” but I love the first sentence of the lyrics… “Find light in the beautiful sea, I choose to be happy.”
That was you! Always choosing to be happy no matter what you faced in life. That is what I’m choosing today…be happy and keep my eyes on you and your mission…not all of this other stuff that tries to distract me from the mission and tries to destroy my joy. You impact my life many times a day in such a positive way!
Miss you tons…love you more…see you in a wink! I Promise!!!
xoxo,
daddy
