My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea, it’s daddy! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! I still can’t believe it’s been 5 years. Watching your celebration of life service yesterday online brought me back to many memories and moments. I so honored to be your daddy and have been able to lead your celebration service. I was also looking back at the flood of emails and notes we received five years ago today from friends, family and all of your Facebook followers. There are thousands of them…some short and some long. Some from young people and some from older people. Some from your classmates and some from college students. Just crazy to read them all.
Someday I want to create a book called “Our Inspiration” and just include all of these notes. I bet we would get a ton more if we asked people today to submit notes on how you have inspired them. When you moved to heaven you had close to 50,000 followers…now over 600,000 if you include Twitter and Instagram. So amazing!
After reading Shaya’s blog post called “Sister Talk” on January 5th it’s clear you have inspired her in big ways too. I love this picture she used. What a smile!!!!
Who knows, maybe someday Shaya will lead your foundation like the sister does for Komen. I bet you would love to know your big sister is leading your legacy=))). I hope she will continue to write “Sister Talk” in the months ahead…I got lots of messages of parents who shared her thoughts with their kids who, like her, have a sibling in Heaven due to cancer.
You inspire me everyday to get up, get moving and give hope, joy and love away to kids and families. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration Jess! I love you with every ounce in my body.
