My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea, it’s daddy! We all miss you so much!!! Christmas is in 3 days…wow! That means it will five years since we last opened presents together. I remember that time like it was yesterday. I was looking a pictures this morning of our last Christmas together. We were in Denver at Aunt Kimmy and Uncle T’s house. Christmas eve it was snowing and you were so excited to wake up on Christmas morning to snow.

Then at 3 am in the morning you came crawling into our bedroom complaining your legs were hurting really bad. Not your head, but your legs. So mommy and I got you in our bed and rubbed your legs with lotion but that didn’t stop the pain. We were started to get a little scared because you were in so much pain. So we texted your case manager at 5 am and thankfully she texted right back. She told us to get you the liquid morphine to take the pain away. We did and it did…you finally fell back to sleep in our bed as mommy and I gently rubbed your back. I remember praying, “God please let Jessie have a great Christmas.” He answered that prayer as you/we did. We just didn’t know at the time a few days later He would call you home to Heaven. I can’t post pictures from that Christmas as the cancer had really started to impact your face and smile so we just don’t share them. We focus on your big amazing smile like in this pic with Mommy…that is the Jessie smile we all love and always remember.

BTW, I got mommy a great gift from you=). I love writing on the gift card…“From Jessie with love.” She will love her gift from you. I just hope we all can have a good Christmas this year. I truly don’t think we will ever have a “great one”…but that’s ok…we are good with a “good one”. Good is way better than bad.

The one thing that is doing GREAT is your foundation. Yesterday, Starbucks dropped off over 5,000 toys for kids and sibs…WOW! They did this massive JoyDrive at 97 stores for two weeks and tons of people gave toys to help us “cure bad days”. The people are so generous and giving…just like you!

We are working on this new program for kids and families that we hope to launch on your 18th birthday, which will be April 8, 2017. We always offer something new to kids and families on your birthday as our gift to them. If we can get connected to more athletes and celebrities this new program is going to help kids and families NEGU like never before.

Jess, I MISS YOU, LOVE YOU AND CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU! I made them all caps as I just went outside and screamed those words so you could also hear me say them=).

xoxo
