My Jessie Journal:: Aloha Sweet Pea…it’s Daddy!!! Our time on the island has come to an end. While we tried hard to create new memories it was the memories of you we thought most of and talk about. The memories were like the waves of the ocean constantly crashing in on the beach. Playing in the waves were fun but if you don’t watch them carefully they can pound you into the sand leaving you breathless. That is what this nightmare so often feels like…getting pounded and fighting for air.
I had many pictures from our last Hawaiian vacation with you to pull from but I choose this one of you and mommy. Last night we were at a dinner show and during the show the host asked everyone to see…”You are my sunshine”. When we got to this part of the song….
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don’t take my sunshine away
I looked over at mommy and tears were crashing down her face. Just like I called you my “Sweet Pea”…you where mommy’s “Sunshine”. You always made her happy with skies were gray and I truly don’t know if you will ever know just how much mommy LOVES YOU!. The last line hurt tons…”Please don’t take my sunshine away”. We all still fight with “Why” our sunshine got taken from us…but we must hold on to the hope of Heaven to get us through each day.
Dang…now tears are crashing down my face. We all love you and miss you so much Jess…just know you will ALWAYS be mommy’s “Sunshine”.
