My Jessie Journal:: Ring….ring….ring… Hello. “Hi daddy it’s Jessie.” Hi Sweet Pea. Is everything ok? “Yep, just getting ready for my first day of classes.”
I can’t believe you are officially starting college today. That is so great. You are going to be the best Child Life Specialist ever!
“Thanks daddy. I can’t wait. I have dreamed of becoming one ever since I met those super nice ladies at CHOC when I was fighting cancer.”
I’m so glad God healed you and you are cancer free and full of life. Those were some tough and tense times.
“I thank God everyday for giving me life daddy. He is always with me and will never leave me.”
You got that right Jess! Remember when it comes to school and life….do your best and let God handle the rest.
“I know daddy. That has been our family motto for years.”
Yes it has…
“Daddy.”
Yes.
“Please tell mommy I’m going to buy a ticket to the football game this weekend and go with some friends. It’s the start of the season and we are suppose to be pretty good.”
I sure will. Mommy is so excited you picked UCLA for college. She loved it there and now you are there studying to help kids fighting cancer some day.
“I love it here and keep meeting nice people. I was thinking that in about five years when I’m done and working at a hospital I could be handing out JoyJars again but as a professional. It would be fun to see the kids smile. They wouldn’t know I created them, I just want to help kids smile.”
You have the best smile ever and you will help many kids smile big because you know what they are going through. I’m so proud of you Jess!
“Thanks daddy. I’m proud of you too. I have the best family ever. Please tell mommy, Shaya and JT I love them and miss them. I got to get ready for class. Love you tons daddy. Let’s chat tomorrow.”
You can always call me. Love you more!!!
Bye….
