Hi Sweet Pea…It’s daddy…sorry the phone is ringing…

Ring…ring…ring

Hello

“Hi daddy. It’s Jessie”

Hi sweet girl. It’s so amazing to hear your voice. You sound great.

“I’m doing good daddy. We are getting ready for the big Easter celebration here and I’m helping make cupcakes.”

Wow! I bet that is going to be a massive party. You always loved making cupcakes.

“It’s my 3rd celebration here and they keep getting bigger and bigger. The amount of people here grow daily. The sad part is I see new kids arrive every day.”

I’m so sorry Jess. As you know, every 4 hours a child fighting cancer joins you. It’s sucks. I so wish there was a cure but there just isn’t much money for the research.

“I know daddy. A few friends and I try our best to make sure each new child gets help finding their room and has friends.”

That sounds just like you…caring for others.

Jess…

“Yeah Daddy”

Next week is your 16th birthday.

“Really?”

Yep!

“Wow. We don’t focus on age here. Everyone just loves each other and is full of joy.”

That sounds like a very special place Jess.

“It is daddy. I’m really doing good. Lots of friends, swimming with Coach Fran and taking care of Kobi and Bruin. He can still hold 3 tennis balls in his mouth.”

Wow! He always loved playing catch with you.

“How is mommy, Shaya and JT?”
They are doing good…I can’t say great anymore. But they are doing good. Like me, they miss you more than words and cry from time to time thinking about you.

“I miss them too daddy. Please let them know I’m ok and look forward to seeing them in a “wink”. Do you remember that day daddy when you and mommy were telling me about possibly going to Heaven due to my cancer?”

Oh yes! Like it was yesterday.

“You told me that the Bible says it’s like a “wink” so that means it really won’t be long until we are all together again.”

I know Jess…just hard down here finding peace and purpose in all of the pain.

“Daddy?”

Yeah Jess.

“The purpose was to spread joy to children fighting cancer. That was my mission on earth. The peace is knowing we will be together again.”

Wow! You sound like a 50 year old teacher talking to a student. You are so wise.

“No daddy…I just see now why I had to suffer cancer. It was and is part of a bigger plan that I can’t tell you about right now. It will all make sense some day. I promise.”

OK…I will keep on trusting and keep on trying to help more kids NEGU.

“Thank you daddy. That was my wish you to you and mommy. I knew you would take it and make it happen. That’s how you are mommy are…get it done type of people.”

Thanks Sweet Pea…you are our inspiration daily!

“Daddy?”

Yeah

“I need to go and help a new kid that just arrived. Love you! Bye.”

Bye sweet girl…I love you so much!

xoxo
