My Jessie Journal: The Call…
Ring…Ring…Ring
Hello…
“Hi Daddy, It’s Jessie.”
Sweet-Pea is that you?
“Yeah, daddy! It’s me. I just wanted to call and let you know I’m doing great up here in Heaven. I love the picture you posted today of us together. We sure had some great times.”
It’s so great to hear your voice. I miss those times.
Are you really ok?
“Daddy, I know you miss me a ton and cry a lot when you think about me, but I’m ok. It’s a really fun place to be and I have met a lot of friends that were here when I arrived and new ones that join us daily. I like to help them find their rooms in this massive cool house we all live in.”
That is so nice of you Jess. What else have you been doing?
“I love walking Bruin and Kobi each day around this nice park that has amazing waterfalls. What is great about Heaven is it never gets cloudy or cold. It’s always is 70 and Sunny. You know how much I love the sun daddy.”
Oh, yes I do. You love the sun and I’m sure your tan is looking great.
“Yeah, but tell mom I put on sun block and still swim with Coach Fran. He is doing great too.”
“How is Mommy doing? I know she worries about me too.”
Mommy does worry about you and misses you so much. I hate seeing her hurt but I understand why. She still does her nightly devotions in the same spot you two had yours. She still wonders if she could have done something more for you.
Like all of us, she walks with a limp that no one can see as her soul screams but no one can hear. Some days it a lonely place to be but knowing you are ok sure helps a ton.
“Please don’t worry about me daddy. I’m truly doing great. Don’t forget the best news of all…we will all be together again. Hold on to “hope” daddy.”
I do Sweet Pea…I do. Just some days my grip is a little stronger than others.
“You can do it daddy. You are super strong. I can’t believe how much all of you have done for the thousands of kids around the world needing boosts of joy. I love seeing each smile.”
Thanks Sweet-Pea. I love seeing the smiles too. I just wish we had the money to do more. Children’s hospitals are contacting us weekly wanting more JoyJars for kids. I think about these kids that have never received one of your JoyJars and been encouraged to Never Ever Give Up. They deserve joy too. Maybe I should play the lottery=).
“I’m sure you and the team will find a way daddy. I don’t think the lottery is a good idea. Daddy, you are really doing a great job and I love the way you talk about me to others. I love being your daughter.”
I love being your daddy!
“Please give hugs to Mommy, Shaya and JT. Tell them I love them, miss them and that I’m ok. Please give Mr. Moe a big squeeze too. He is getting so big.”
I will Jess. I promise.
“Got to go walk the puppies. I will try calling soon. Please keep writing to me each Thursday. I get everyone and love reading them. Love ya daddy!”
Love you to Jess….bye….
