Three-year-old Isaac started having abdominal pain that seemed to be getting worse instead of better. After weekly visits to the doctor’s office and with symptoms worsening, his parents pushed for an x-ray that led to a CT-scan. That day, March 23, 2015, at the age of 2 ½, Isaac was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma.

Little Isaac is one tough Courageous Kid! He has gone through 5 rounds of chemotherapy, a 14-hour surgery, a stem cell transplant, 12 rounds of radiation… the list goes on. In May, Isaac began to continue to take medicine at home, as his last round of treatment. We are SO proud of you bud!

Isaac’s mom, Tricia said, “Watching my son, and many other children from his hospital and around the world fight their battles has given me the strength to get through the unimaginable. People have no idea how it changes a person seeing a child dying slowly right in front of you while being injected with poison. Seeing Isaac get through what he has, in the pain he has been in is amazing, and unreal. I won’t give up because even though he doesn’t know what he’s fighting for or what he’s fighting against he fights stronger and braver than anyone I’ve ever met.”

Isaac has received two of Jessie’s JoyJars and one custom birthday JoyJar and each time he is so excited to open the box himself and proudly pull out each item inside and show his family.

At the Jessie Rees Foundation we care for the entire family, siblings included!

“The sibling box was a big thing for us.” When Isaac’s sister saw the box at the front door, she thought it was just another package for Isaac, but his mom says, “When she saw her and her baby brothers name on the box, her face lit up and she smiled so big and ran inside to open it. She has given up a lot and gone through a lot since her brother’s diagnosis. It meant so much to have someone acknowledge this.”

We NEGU for you and your family Isaac – stay NEGU strong buddy!!!
