During the final snap at Elite11 quarterback workout session ‘The Opening’ at Nike Campus in Oregon, the athletes met on the field to give courageous kid, Super Cade a moment he will never forget.
Cade was visiting Elite11 as part of his NEGU Adventure with the Jessie Rees Foundation with his Dad, Mike. Cade and the other courageous kids at Elite11 were spreading Jessie’s Never Ever Give Up motto, which really resonated with the athletes. Visiting Nike Campus and the Elite11 quarterbacks included lots of exciting opportunities. Cade and the boys not only got to watch the quarterbacks practicing, they got to design an exclusive Nike shoe that will be released later this year as part of Megatron’s shoe campaign and even hang out with the guys off the field.
Super Cade also got the special opportunity to speak to the players during one of their off field meetings. Elite11 Quarterback Jeff Duffey said,
“Meeting Cade and the rest of the Courageous Kids was a blessing. Seeing how strong those kids are and how they are able to keep a smile on their faces despite everything they are going through has changed my outlook on many things. People may think that the kids were lucky to meet us, but I can speak for the rest of the Elite11 Quarterbacks when I say we were truly the lucky ones.”
On the last snap of Tuesday’s Elite11 workout session, Patrick O’Brien, Husker quarterback commit, handed the ball off to Super Cade for a touchdown run!
It was a successful weekend at Elite11 with memories we will never forget. We are already looking forward to next year!
