Jonathan was diagnosed with leukemia August 27, 2014 and has been courageously fighting since then. He has had several issues do to the cancer – on June 1, 2016 his family found out he relapsed and would need a bone marrow transplant. Before getting to the transplant, Jonathan was in the ICU and had several complications and damage to his kidneys, heart, lungs, and several infections.

Jonathan loves Football, video games, painting, and horses. His mom Trisha says that Jonathan has an incredible funny sense of humor.

During his journey, he has even been put on dialysis everyday for a few weeks. His parents were told at that point that the doctors didn’t believe he would make it out of the ICU. Fortunately, he started to do better and eventually was put back in the oncology unit. While Jonathan was in the oncology unit, his parents had to teach him how to eat again and after a few weeks of physical therapy they taught him how to walk again. Jonathan is so strong!!!

He started radiation to his brain everyday before finally coming home and once he came home he did one final week of radiation. His mom says, “The radiation was necessary because when he relapsed this time he also had CNS. He fought long and hard and by the grace of god he made it and from that point we would go to Columbus for the bone marrow transplant.”

During the transplant in Columbus, Jonathan had a few new issues, but he made it through and was released from the hospital in November. But they still continued to go back and forth to Columbus with Jonathan several times a week.

On January 16, strong and Courageous Jonathan went in for a routine bone marrow biopsy and the next morning his family recieved a call that once again the cancer was back. After hearing this devastating news for the second time, he had more testing and we found out that the cancer was in his spinal fluid also. His mom says, “We met with his doctors and they informed us that after two relapses there is nothing more they could do to try to cure him.”

We NEGU for you Jonathan, STAY STRONG BUDDY – and NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!!
