Summer is winding down and school will be back in session soon. We are working with some wonderful high school kids around the country who have a desire to support their peers fighting cancer and have dedicated the 2013-2014 school year to participating in their very own high school NEGU Club!
In addition to studying for exams and playing sports, these compassionate future leaders dedicate their free time to spreading awareness for childhood cancers and supporting kids around the country fighting cancer. Starting a NEGU Club is easy, fun and a great way to integrate compassionate-learning and service into a high school club. NEGU Club members work together to set goals, host fundraising events and become the voice for childhood cancer awareness on campus.
The Trabuco Hills High School NEGU Club meets 1-2 times a month. The Club has participated in their own Joy Stuffing event in the Joy Factory. This year, the group also hopes to host a school-wide Joy Drive to collect hospital-approved toys for JoyJars. Working with other clubs and organizations on campus, the Trabuco Hills High School NEGU Club would also like to explore the option of hosting a benefit concert to help encourage kids fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up.
Last year, the Edison High School NEGU Club hosted a Compassion Change Challenge! This was a fun and engaging activity in which the club asked the entire school to dedicate 1 minute to collecting all the change they could within the entire school. This is a quick, easy and fun way to raise money to support kids who need it most.
We are so honored to have the support of these compassionate leaders. Thank you, to all of our wonderful NEGU Clubs, for supporting kids fighting cancer. We can’t wait to see the fun and exciting ideas you have for 2013-2014! Do you want to start a NEGU Club at your high school? Email Tina, our NEGU Club Coordinator at tina@jessie.org
