Baseball player and Chicago Cubs 1st baseman Anthony Rizzo is no stranger to hope. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 18, and was successfully treated, while then quickly being drafted into the MLB – first to the Boston Red Sox and now the first baseman on the World Series Champions, the Chicago Cubs. Rizzo’s teammate on the Cubs, Jon Lester is also a cancer survivor. The bond between Lester and Rizzo is strong – you can read about it HERE or watch a story about it HERE -and captures a side of the Chicago Cubs that many fans don’t see, but one that the childhood cancer community knows all too well.

Rizzo frequents Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and stands as a symbol of hope for the Courageous Kids fighting cancer there. He visits the hospital often, spending time with patients, posing for photos, gifting baseball caps and even Cubs tickets. Courageous Kids use Rizzo’s example of perseverance, coming out the other side, and defying expectations no matter what comes your way. Rizzo Never Ever Gives Up!

8 Years Ago this September, Rizzo posted that he was 8-years cancer free! We NEGU for you Rizzo & Lester!!!
