During Jessie’s 10 month fight with cancer, she inspired so many of us by her courage, her strength and her sweet and kind spirit. When Darlene O’Neal learned about Jessie, she knew she couldn’t just sit back and close the book. Rather, Darlene devoted herself to stand behind Jessie and support her and all other kids fighting cancer. Introducing Jessie’s NEGU message into her own family, Darlene and her children helped to get Jessie’s JoyJars into their local childrens hospital and would help spread joy to cancer fighters in their area. Darlene and her family, to this day, are some of Jessie’s biggest fans. NEGU for them, is not a saying..it’s a lifestyle.
When Darlene’s daughter Alli married the love of her life, Sean this year, Jessie’s NEGU message was closely integrated into this memorable day. Alli and Sean committed to sharing their lives together and committed to Never Ever Giving Up. Guests at Alli and Sean’s wedding were invited take and wear gray ribbons in memory of Jessie and other children who have been affected by brain cancer. Also, in lieu of gifts, guests were invited to make a special donation to Jessie’s Foundation so that more kids fighting cancer could receive Joy.
Today, it is now Darlene who desperately needs prayers and encouragement as she fights for her life after experiencing a massive stroke. Darlene has done so much to help encourage others in need and we would like to turn around and give her that same amazing support.
