My Jessie Journal…
Ring…Ring…Ring…
Hello
“Aloha Daddy, it’s Jessie.”
Sweet Pea! How are you?
“I’m doing really good daddy. Meeting lots of new friends and having lots of fun with Kobi & Bruin.”
That is so great Jess. We sure missed having you on vacation this year. It’s just not the same.
“I know daddy, but I’m on my mission trip and it could be a few years until we see each other again.”
I know…just not happy about it!
“Daddy, did you see me in Hawaii?”
What do you mean? You were there?
“I was in spirit & sun.”
You are always with me in spirit, but what do you mean about “sun”.
“Like Ms. Lisa wrote in her post…I was the sun shining down on you, mommy, Shaya and JT in the great picture you took. Did you see me?”
Oh…that sun! Yes, I saw it and I’m glad Ms. Lisa pointed it out to me.
Jess.
“Yeah Daddy.”
Did you also leave me this “sign”?
“Yes, I did. I knew you were sad and missing me that day so I asked the Big Guy up here to send you a special “sign” to know I was with you.”
That was very special Jess. As I was sitting down on day 8 of our trip and having a drink with Uncle T this super nice waitress came by to help us. Her name was “Jessie”. She even had tan skin and long blonde hair. What was even more amazing was I asked her if I could please have her name badge and explained why. She was expecting her first child in just a few months and cried with me as she passed me her name badge. I showed her pics of you on my phone and she smiled. Her smile reminded me of you too.
Please thank the Big Guy for blessing me with that moment. It came at the right time and made me feel you in a wonderful way. It was truly one of the best parts of the trip.
“I sure will tell him daddy. He is so great at taking special requests from us. He loves you so much daddy and told me He know your strong faith could handle me going on my mission trip. He also know you and mommy were the type of parents that would make the world a better place while I was gone.”
Thanks Jess!
I wish I felt strong. Some days it’s like surviving but knowing I have you with me in spirit & sun sure helps. You always liked the sun .
“I still do daddy. The sun and beaches up here are incredible.”
“Daddy”
Yeah Sweet Pea.
“Today is you and mommies wedding anniversary. Happy anniversary.”
Thanks Jess.
People say “I’m strong”….Your mommy is way stronger than me. She is the rock in the family. She is the glue that holds us together some days. She works FT, takes care of the house, the dogs and helps Shaya and JT with school…she is simply amazing. I’m so honored to be married to your mommy Jessie.
“Daddy, you both are great parents and I thank the Big Guy each day for allowing me to have such great role models.”
Thanks Sweet-Pea…we do the best we can with what we have today. That is really any of us can do in life. Even when life hurts so much you just want to throw-up.
“The best we can with what we have today! That’s a great way to say it daddy.”
“I got to go and take the doggies for a walk.”
Ok, Sweet Pea. I love you. I miss you. Please call again soon.
“I love you to daddy. Always will!!!! Say “hi” to everyone for me and look for me in spirit and sun. Mahalo!”
Mahalo sweet girl!
