Halloween is an anticipated day for many kids; an opportunity to dress up, be silly and share some memorable childhood moments with friends and family. Along with the fun costumes, exciting parties and a night of trick-or-treating, many families use Halloween as an opportunity to do some meaningful service projects in their communities to help others and add to the joy of this fun fall holiday.
If you are looking for a great, kid-friendly Halloween service project that can be done as a group or family, why not host a “not so spooky” Joy Drive! JoyDrives offer kids the opportunity to do a simple service activity while adding their own personal touch to their individual project. When a child, club, or group hosts a Joy Drive, they simply collect hospital approved toys to be used in JoyJars which are sent to children all over the world fighting cancer.
Check out our JoyDrive planner for tips on how to get started. By following these seven steps you can have a Joy Drive of your own.
