My Jessie Journal: Hi Sweet Pea, it’s daddy=). In my heart you have a computer in your Heavenly room and you actually get to read these…I won’t know for a long time but I love writing to you every Thursday. Some are harder than others but it really has become a way of life for me. I think of things during the week and say to myself, “I have to tell Jessie about this Thursday”. I’m sure people think I’m crazy but that’s ok. We are getting ready for the big JoySplash Saturday at J Serra High School. Coach Mary and the entire JRF team have been working so hard. It will be great to see the swim community gather to raise funds for JoyJars. Kaitlin has gathered some Olympians to come too…so fun!!!
Shaya and her buddies are all wearing matching swim suits and calling themselves “Jessie’s Girls”. So great! Speaking of Shaya, she misses you so much Jess. Like all of us, some days are better than others. She sees your room every time she leaves her room…you all loved having your rooms close to each other. Shaya always told you it was going to be ok when you would have a bad dream or get scared from the wind. I love this picture of the two of you. You looked up to Shaya so much. All of those teenage girl talks that Shaya won’t have with you…such a bummer. She always looked out for you and now speaks out on your behalf to others. I was watching a video of the two of you dancing silly when you both dressed up as adults, put on lots of make up and danced to Beyonce’s Single Ladies. It’s one of those that makes my tummy hurt after words because I laugh so hard. Shaya is even thinking about becoming a Child Life Specialist to help kids in the hospital. That would be so cool. She too is trying to become better rather than bitter. Shaya is learning to surf and just got a crazy NEGU surfboard…it’s pink! You would love it=). She is also going to try competing in a triathlon this fall. She will be racing for TeamNEGU to spread your message. She is loving her new little puppy Hope that she got at the gala. Hope and Moe play all of the time and are super cute together. Don’t worry, Moe still gets special treatment and lots of love!!!
Jess, thanks for being an amazing little sister to Shaya. You always tried to encourage her in whatever she was pursuing. Yes you fought like any two sisters would but you guys were on your way to being best friends. I think that is what is the hardest for Shaya now…not having you to talk, sit, draw, write, laugh and cry with. JT can help in some ways but he is not and never will be able to fill the void of losing a sister. Have God send some extra love to Shaya this week please. I’m sure she would love it.
I miss you so much Jess…see you in a wink!
xoxo
