“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure”- Author Unknown
When a family loses a child, they are left with their precious memories—some stored safely within their hearts, others documented through photographs, videos, baby books and journals. After the loss of their daughter Jessie, Erik and Stacey Rees wanted to find a way to help other grieving parents memorialize and preserve everything special about their child–a way to remember their character and their spirit–a way to remember them–just for who they are.
From this desire to help, the Rees family created Memory Canvases, custom canvases documenting special and memorable words to describe the family’s sweet child and their memories together. Memory canvases are currently available at no financial obligation, to families who have lost a child to cancer (under 18 years of age) through the Jessie Rees Foundation. We have had an overwhelming response from parents who have received Memory Canvases for their children and we are so honored to offer this beautiful gift to them.
The Rikard family received their memory canvas this week for their beautiful daughter Brittany. Here is what they had to say about their Memory Canvas–
“We received our Brittany Memory Canvas about an hour ago. We have not been this happy or overwhelmed with joy since Brittany passed away until today. Every word in the canvas reminds us of what an amazing individual Brittany was and we will cherish it always! We can not say “THANK YOU” enough to the Jessie Rees Foundation: Never Ever Give Up! The canvas is everything we had hoped for plus 100x more. I know it will greatly help us in the healing process of losing our Brittany. We have it sitting beside her graduation portrait on a table in our living room where we can see it until we find the perfect place to hang it up on the wall. This is such a wonderful way to honor our Brittany! I know she would be so happy to see that she is being remembered in a positive way. You have encouraged us to “Never Ever Give Up.”- The Rikard Family
