2018 marked the 22nd year of Nike Football’s The Opening Regionals. At the Opening Finals week, many of the best high school football players across the country come for four days of skill evaluation, 7-on-7 competition, and lineman challenges.

The training doesn’t come to a stop once the football prospects step off of the turf. The players also have the opportunity to play football, take photos and spend time with Courageous Kids like Cade who are part of the Jessie Rees Foundation.

“It shows you there’s life beyond football,” said Christian Williams, a defensive back committed to Alabama. “There’s a lot of things you can do, and you can really impact lives in small ways.”

Learning that giving back is as important as what you do on the field is very important. The football players are faced with more mind-over-matter pressure while learning that without support from their loved ones the game would be much harder to play. NEGU Ambassador Cade got to tell why he NEGU’s every day and why he works out to be stronger too!

@dreamchaserTy10 Tweeted this awesome note about meeting Courageous Kid Bambam… “I want to say THANK YOU to the opening for the experience I had yesterday….. but for yesterday they brought in local kids that have cancer and I got paired up with one of the most adorable, energetic kid there…”

What a great experience for the players and the Courageous Kids! NEGU!
