Kaylee was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 wilms tumor on the day of her 6th birthday, February 1, 2018. She has a 17cm tumor wrapped around her left kidney. Kaylee had surgery one day after her diagnosis to try and remove the whole tumor, however, they were unable to remove to the tumor due to its size and other complications which could of occurred.

Kaylee has been undergoing chemo to reduce the size of the tumor before trying surgery again. The doctors anticipate Kaylee will be in the hospital for awhile for treatment afterwards for radiation. Her mom, Kristina says, “Everyone has been so supportive of our little girl and everyone is always asking to help and we have just been so overwhelmed as we have 3 other children. We just held a benefit this past Sunday for Kaylee and the outpouring support from not only friends and family but the community to was amazing. The benefit was set up to help ease medical and living costs for our family. Through everything Kaylee has endured in the last almost 2 months she has never lost her shine. She is the glue holding our family together through all of this and if she didn’t have her feeding tube (and hair loss) you wouldn’t think she was a kid dealing with cancer. Thank you for your support, it means a lot to our little girl knowing so many people love and support her.”
