Astronaut Kate Rubins has recently debuted a colorful spacesuit – all painted by Courageous Kids fighting cancer. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Flight Engineer is aboard the International Space Station and her hand-painted spacesuit is called “COURAGE.”
NASA revealed the suit is to raise awareness about childhood cancer – during Childhood Cancer Month this September. The spacesuit was created by the pediatric cancer patients at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, in collaboration with their Space Suit Art Project, with the Arts in Medicine Program.
The suit will be displayed at the Space Center Houston in January 2017.
