JoyDrop: The Power of Priorities!

If we were sitting down today, enjoying a cup of coffee, and I asked you this question… “Would you be more of a “prioritizer” or “procrastinator”?” What would you say?

If you were to ask me that question, I would have to say, “I love setting priorities but it took losing my daughter to cancer to realize my family seldom made the top of my daily list.”  Sure I told them everyday “I loved them” and gave them hugs but kids spell LOVE…TIME.

I’m ashamed to admit it, but it’s true.  I took my kids for granted.  I just expected that I would have “tomorrow” because the tasks of my “today” always got in the way.  I used to say to my kids… “Just a minute” when they want to spend time with me.  I should have said, “Here I come!” That would have made them feel they were my top priority.  While I can’t hit the “rewind” button of my life, however I can learn from my past and make today better.

I have this picture hanging in my office as a reminder to me…
 123
At the bottom it says…“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”

So no matter if you “prioritizer” or “procrastinator”, let’s both strive everyday to make our kids know they are TOP PRIORITY in our lives.

Cheering for you!  Please cheer for me too!

THANK YOU for your gift to help care until there is a cure!
