Cam Newton paid a surprise visit to a Courageous Kid battling cancer at a block party set up by several dozen neighbors of 10-year-old Elijah Aschbrenner, who has a rare form of cancer called epithelioid sarcoma.
Elijah learned the week prior that the disease had spread and that he might not make it to Halloween night, so his community rallied quickly to throw him a party in honor of his most favorite holiday.
A few days earlier, Newton had called Elijah to say hello and help lift his spirits, but he caught everyone off guard when he showed up at Friday night’s party. We are so inspired by incredible athletes that take the time to make Courageous Kids like Elijah happy during their fight.
