Hi Sweet Pea…it’s daddy! I sure hope this note finds you doing great. I wanted to write and tell you something you already know…your mommy is amazing! She is so kind, loving, sweet, patient, caring, giving and beautiful. Just like you!
I was reminded of this yesterday when I talked with a mommy that has a son fighting for his life. The doctors aren’t giving them much hope. Cancer sucks! I could just hear her love, fear, worry and hope in her words and tones. She just asked me all sorts of questions about you. How your body changed. How the last few hours were for you and us. How telling Shaya and JT that you were going to Heaven was.
She was doing all of this out of a massive heart of love for her son and family. She was just trying to “prepare”. I totally get it. While I hate that these families have to deal with this soul searing pain…I’m so happy that I get the chance to listen, to talk and to pray with them. I get to talk to 4-5 families a week. Which is never a burden to me…rather a blessings to help them not feel alone.
Mommy was always there with you. She never missed an appointment and did everything she could to make you happy. Even when those darn steroids make you a little cranky=). She was the best mommy. All mommies are the “best”…everyday they give so much to their husbands and kids. While seldom asking for much in return.
I know Mother’s Day is a few weeks away but I just wanted to use today to give a little shout out to moms!
Miss you tons…love you more…see you soon sweet girl!
