JoyDrop: Your 31-Day Challenge

For over twenty years I have studied people, their passions and their patterns.  I love discovering what makes a person who they are and how they view life.  From my studies, I have found most people fall in one of three groups.  These groups are not bound by age, race, gender or status.  They simply are three different ways people navigate life.

The first group of people is what I call “Cruisers”. These are people who just go through life at a different style and pace.  They are not really goal driven by nature and tend to be way more relaxed than others.  Happiness is typically achieved by having the least amount of responsibilities.  Simply put, Cruisers just love to “cruise” through life.

The second group is what I call “Consumers”.   These people are super driven to get and gain as much of life as they can.  Happiness is defined to Consumers by having the most and being noticed. Consumers tend to feel like life “owes” them something and the one who “consumes” the most wins in the end.

The third group is what I call “Contributors”.  These people view life totally different from the other two.  Happiness is defined by leaving life better than they found it. Contributors typically avoid the spotlight and look to give anything and everything they have to others.

Let say for the sake of argument, you agree these are three possible groups of people.  Do you know people that would fall within each group?  What group would you place yourself in?  Are you happy with the group you are in?

I have to admit I use to be a “Consumer”.  I truly thought that happiness was attached to how much I could gain – money, fame, and power…the list goes on.  Thankfully, a friend of mind challenged me to focus on giving more than getting for 31 days.  During this challenge I experienced happiness, joy and fulfillment like never before.  I had never thought that giving was actually better than getting.  I’m so thankful I took the challenge and discovered a new meaning for contentment in my own life.

If you can relate to being a “Consumer” like I was, then maybe you too could benefit from the same challenge.  March is coming in just a few days and has 31 days waiting for you.  What will you do with them?  Will you cruise through them?  Will you consume them?  Will you give a little each day?  I hope you take the challenge!  I’m confident you too will experience happiness, joy and fulfillment in ways you never have.

I’ll be cheering for you!

THANK YOU for your gift to help care until there is a cure!
