On Monday, April 18, 2012 we stuffed and shipped out Jessie’s 10,000 JoyJar, which means we have made 10,000 smiles. Â What a great accomplishment in less than 6 months time!! Our goal is to reach 50,000 by the end of the year.
JoyJars are now in over 125 Children’s Hospitals, 175 Ronald McDonald Houses and 3,000 homes. Â JoyJars are gone international with JoyJars reaching courageous kids in Germany, Canada, India and South Africa.
JoyJars were inspired by Jessie as a way to deliver a boost of joy and a message of hope to her peers fighting cancer. Â With over 250,000 kids in active treatment, we have lots of more joy to spread for Jessie. Â Add in each sibling and the number is over 1M kids needing a boost of joy.
JoyJars are known as “emotional medicine” in a jar, which is just what Jessie wanted. Â JoyJars also put smiles on faces during some of the most painful times in a child’s life.
The Jessie Rees Foundation is honored to be able to spread so much hope, joy and love to these courageous kids and will never stop. Â We know first hand that having cancer makes you feel lonely and limited but “love” softens the edges.
