A Message from

Our goal is to strategically focus on non-profits that offer assistance to our cities’ most vulnerable while ensuring the health and safety of Swinerton employees.

Swinerton has long been dedicated to positively impacting our industry, our communities, and our employees. We believe in building better responsibly, and we do so through our commitment to economic and workforce development, philanthropy, safety, health and wellness, innovation, collaboration, and ensuring we are environmentally conscious in all of our operations. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not merely a department; it is the very DNA of our organization.

We are so grateful for Compassionate Partners such as Swinerton and their dedication and passion to further Jessie’s mission to encourage kids fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up!

NEGU, Erik (Daddy) Rees

OUR FOREVER INSPIRATION

The Jessie Rees Foundation was, and always will be, inspired by one courageous and compassionate 12 year old little girl.  Her name, Jessica Joy Rees, better known as “Jessie”.   Jessie was a faith-filled, beautiful, athletic, caring and loving girl who courageously fought cancer (DIPG) from March 3, 2011 to January 5, 2012.  She loved her family very much and her puppy Mr. Moe. She created JoyJars® and was the first one to coin the term “NEGU®”, which was her motto and message to everyone.   Jessie had one “wish”, which is the mission of her foundation.

Give a smile to a child fighting cancer and help them feel encouraged to NEVER EVER GIVE UP just like Jessie wanted!

Because of YOU, each month, a different child will receive one of Jessie’s JoyJars and will learn about how they can join ClubNEGU to receive daily encouragement. Every month you will receive a special “thank you” photo – a smiling reminder of the difference you continue to make with your monthly gift.

Be the reason an entire ClubNEGU family will receive daily messages of encouragement and monthly NEGU gifts.

You will get to learn the first name and type of cancer the courageous fighter you sign up to support is battling, and in what state he or she lives. Your assigned Courageous Family – including Super Sibs and parents – will all be included in the gifts of encouragement.  NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!

Color Care Cards for Courageous Kids

During Jessie’s 10 month battle with cancer she focused on encouraging other kids fighting cancer to NEGU – NEVER EVER GIVE UP. Thank you for joining the team who wants to continue spreading that encouragement through the creation of brightly decorated Care Cards.

Please take your time with these cards – quality and heart are more important than quantity. Imagine the joy and encouragement you are spreading when a child in the midst of fighting cancer opens a package containing cards exploding with color and supportive messages from someone they have never met! The cards may just find their way to the walls of their bedroom or hospital room as an ongoing reminder of your love and encouragement!

Once you have completed your Care Card filled with uplifting words please email it to: allie@jessie.org or mail it to: Jessie Rees Foundation-Swinerton, 9701 Research Drive, Suite 150, Irvine, CA 92618

Let’s Make Beanies Together!

All Brave Beanies are included in the JoyJars that are sent to courageous kids fighting cancer.

For handmade Brave Beanies, we recommend using soft yarns in fun colors! Please no wool or animal hair.

Brave Beanies can be handmade or purchased for any age group listed.

In honor of Jessie and her desire to help spread JOY and give comfort to kids fighting cancer, we are looking for people who love to knit, sew, crochet or loom to help make Brave Beanies for Jessie’s JoyJars. You can make one or grab a group of friends and make 100, as each beanie will provide lots of comfort to children fighting cancer!
