My Jessie Journal::
Jessie and our family believes things don’t happen by accident. So now that Jessie is cancer free in Heaven we look for the lessons in our pile of pain/grief/loss. We could choose to find anger and bitterness but how does that help. It doesn’t! Sure we have had moments but then we think of Jessie our hearts are recalibrated to hope, joy and love.
A few lessons: 1) Don’t take life for granted. All to often we did. No more! Our motto is “embrace the day”. 2) Jessie’s fight also turned a head “fact” into a heart feeling for me so i could truly learn that “Life does hurt but God does heal”. 3) We have also learned that kids and families fighting cancer are lonely, limited and labeled. Jessie’s response was “be loving”. Love is a universal principle that everyone of us has the opportunity to share.
We have 100’s of more lessons to find in the pile of pain…each one wrapped with opportunity to be better and not bitter.
