The Jessie Rees Foundation understands the impact that a cancer journey has on every member of the family. As parents of a child fighting cancer, you are on call 24/7, rarely getting time for yourselves. As a caregiver, you’re deeply involved in the family’s experiences. That’s why the Jessie Rees Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that Courageous Parents and Courageous Caregivers feel loved and appreciated, empowering them to maintain the NEGU spirit. Through the generosity of the Harbaugh Foundation, we’ve partnered to create the NEGU Experience getaway at The Setting Inn in Willamette Valley.

At its core, the NEGU Experience at The Setting Inn Willamette Valley is about more than just providing a place to stay—it’s about creating moments of comfort and care during challenging times. Every guest who walks through the doors is facing a unique journey. Whether they are parents or family members supporting a child currently battling cancer, celebrating a recent victory over the disease, or honoring the memory of a loved one, this experience offers a personalized touch that resonates with their journey.

The owners and on-site team at The Setting Inn Willamette Valley believe in the power of giving back, especially to organizations like the Jessie Rees Foundation, through the exclusive NEGU Experience. Each experience is tailored so depending on their circumstances, guests may receive bouquets of fresh flowers to brighten their day, bottles of The Setting Wine for a moment of reflection, curated chocolates to sweeten their stay, or a cheese and charcuterie board for a simple yet comforting indulgence. Each of these gestures is carefully chosen to align with each of the guests, ensuring they feel supported and valued and loved during their time away.

Courageous Mom Kimmie visited The Setting Inn with her husband and shared, “This time meant more than we knew. We went in April 2024 and in June 2024 we found out that our daughter had relapsed, so we are back in the fight and as of now, that was our last over night together. We hope to go back once we are on the other side of this journey again.” She added that NEGU means “we always have someone in our corner supporting our daughter and family through this unbearable time in our lives. I’m forever grateful for organizations like NEGU who support my daughter and our family through this cancer journey.”

The Setting Inn and the Harbaugh Foundation are proud to contribute to the mission of the Jessie Rees Foundation—spreading joy, offering comfort, and reminding every family that they are not alone in their journey. Joe Balla, trustee and director of the Harbaugh Foundation, expressed, “The Harbaugh Foundation is honored to play a role in allowing families to spend time together at such a critical time. We want the best for these strong families and are grateful for the opportunity to help.”

As we continue to stand by families on their cancer journey, the NEGU Experience at The Setting Inn Willamette Valley serves as a reminder that even in the midst of the most challenging times, moments of comfort, joy, and connection are possible. Through this partnership with the Jessie Rees Foundation and the Harbaugh Foundation, we are committed to creating a space where families can find solace, strength, and the support they need. The hope is that each stay leaves a lasting impact, providing these courageous families and caregivers with the love and encouragement they deserve, and reminding them that they are never alone in their journey and to Never Ever Give Up!
