Life Technologies, a Global Life Sciences Company, is well known for developing products that contribute to ground breaking life science research, but is just as importantly known for it’s strong commitment to serving and giving back to the communities within which their teams work and live.
The Life Technologies teams serve their local communities in several different ways through their “Giving Back at Life” initiatives. One of those opportunities is the Life Technologies Global Volunteer Day for which each employee is given a half day of paid time to volunteer for a variety of community service projects across the globe.
This year, the Carlsbad Life Technologies team selected the Jessie Rees Foundation and Jessie’s JoyJars as one of their charities and service projects. Over 300 compassionate volunteers joined together this week to stuff over 10,000 JoyJars! These JoyJars will be shipped to Ronald McDonald Houses around the world to spread love, JOY and encouragement to kids fighting life threatening illnesses.
