Last weekend I was in Michigan speaking at this amazing event called Relentless Detroit. During the two days, power lifters from around the world united to compete and raise funds for children fighting cancer. I had the honor of sharing Jessie’s story during the event and encourage local children and families to never ever give up!
After my first talk, I met a wonderful young lady who said…”You will never know the power of those four little words.” She went on to tell me how Jessie and her NEGU motto had kept her out of depression during a super difficult time in her life. Later that night, I sat in my hotel room and thought about the power of words. Some can be used to help and others hurt. The best ones bring hope and help cure bad days. I don’t remember many of the talks I had with Jessie but I do remember her saying…
“I love you daddy”
“Thank you daddy”
“I miss you daddy”
Those small little phrases are forever seared to my soul. What about you? What short phases have impacted you the most? What words have brought you the greatest joy in life? Better yet, who’s bad day do you need to cure today with your words? Think of someone and use your words to bring them joy!
