My Jessie Journal:: Hi Sweet Pea! It’s daddy. I love that I get to write to you twice this week. Christmas was good here…lots of family, food and fun. I never really thought in detail about how your Christmas’ must be until I heard this song from the American Idol winner Scotty McCreery…Christmas In Heaven. Here are the words…

“December hasn’t changed
This town looks the same
They still light that tree in the city square
There’s red, white, and green shining everywhere
And I wish you were here
And I wonder

Is the snow falling down on the streets of gold
Are the mansions all covered in white
Are you singing with angels “Silent Night”
I wonder what Christmas in heaven is like

There’s a little manger scene
Down on Third and Main
I must have walked right by it a thousand times
But I see it now in a different light
‘Cause I know you are there
And I wonder

Are you kneeling with shepherds before him now
Can you reach out and touch his face
Are you part of that glorious Holy night
I wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like

Is the snow falling down on the streets of gold?
Are the mansions all covered in white?
Are you singing with angels “Silent Night”
I wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like.”

Jess, I love this song and was so glad a friend on Facebook sent it to me. I really gave color and texture to what Christmas in Heaven could be like. It also made me think about the time you got to be on American Idol and introduce Scotty after a commercial break. This picture is with you and all of the idols from that season. There is Scotty in the back right corner. Such great memories!!!

Speaking of memories…we have decided to go to Disneyland on January 5th and celebrate you and your legacy at the place you loved so much. Yes, it will be bitter sweet but we all just don’t want to be in our house that day and would rather go outside, ride your favorite rides, eat fun food and celebrate YOU!!!
I still can’t believe it’s going to be 7 years without you!!!

Miss you so much…love you tons more! See you in a wink…PROMISE!
