Handmade Dolls for Childhood Cancer Patients

Feb 17, 2023

We are so thankful at the Jessie Rees Foundation to have incredible volunteers and supporters of Jessie and the mission she created and inspires every day!

One volunteer, Linda Martin has taken her support to the next level. Linda, a fantastic artist and owner of Top Drawer Artwork is also a compassionate member of the JoySquad, sponsoring JoyJars monthly for kids fighting cancer. For many years, Linda has created handmade dolls to put in JoyJars. Linda names each of the dolls and numbers them, just like Emmy Lou, doll number 343!

handmade dollLinda and her husband Mike visited the JoyFactory and had the opportunity to stuff JoyJars. It was special for Linda and Mike to include her dolls in the JoyJars they personally stuffed, and see first-hand the impact that her art and dolls make. We are so grateful for this compassionate tag team and for all the JOY they are creating for Courageous Kids fighting cancer!

You can join Linda as a member of the JoySquad and put JoyJars directly into the hands of brave children battling childhood cancer, too. Join today!
