Social Good Company Raises Over $50,000 for the Jessie Rees Foundation In Seven Days
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 16, 2012
In just seven days, social good startup Sevenly has raised over $50,000 for the Jessie Rees Foundation in it’s most successful campaign to date. The record breaking campaign was given a boost by an anonymous private donor who matched every seven dollar donation from the t-shirt purchases.
Sevenly, which has been in operation for less than a year, has held 44 week-long campaigns and has already donated over $350,000 to various charities and some of the world’s greatest causes. CEO Dale Partridge was humbled by the week’s record breaking numbers and attributes the success to the Jessie Rees Foundation and Sevenly supporters.
“This week’s cause is very powerful,†said Sevenly CEO Dale Partridge. “Everyone is familiar with cancer and the effects that it has on people, especially children. The Jessie Rees Foundation has a very dedicated supporter base and our campaign gave people an easy option for contributing to a cause that they believe in and support.â€
The Jessie Rees Foundation is a pediatric organization inspired by 12 year old Jessie Rees, which was created to fulfill Jessie’s wish that every kid fighting cancer would be personally encouraged to Never Ever Give Up. JoyJars, created by Jessie during her courageous 10 month fight with cancer, are used to spread hope, joy and love to children fighting life altering medical illnesses. As of March 2012, close to 10,000 JoyJars have been stuffed and sent to courageous kids.
“We loved partnering with Sevenly and their amazing team,†said Erik Rees, Jessie’s father and Rees Foundation Chief Encouragement Officer. “Jessie loved fashion, so the opportunity to have a killer designer t-shirt supporting her foundation and helping us spread more hope, joy and love to kids fighting cancer was an easy decision.â€
“The success of this campaign comes down to compassionate people wanting to spread joy to kids,†Rees continued. “Jessie’s JoyJars have gone international in three month’s time and we believe the opportunity to buy a shirt and bless a child with one of Jessie’s JoyJars made this campaign so successful.â€
