TeamNEGU Blog

Hi Sweet Pea…it’s daddy. Dang I miss you. I just miss being a family of 5. We traveled this last week for spring break and every time a waitress said… “table for 4” my heart sunk. I know I need to get over this but it’s not so easy.

One person you have inspired in amazing ways is your big sister Shaya. I just love this picture of you two. You two were best friends and inseparable.

Shaya asked mommy and I a month ago if she could start a blog to share with people. We totally wanted to encourage her so we said “go for it”. It’s amazing the amount of people that are already following her and reading her thoughts. She called her blog…”Oh Darling”. I just love that name.

She wrote about you last week and it’s a very popular blog on her site. It doesn’t surprise me. She shared from the heart which I’m so proud of. You can read about it at www.shayarees.com/?p=295.

I love the fact that JessieRees.com is all about you and now ShayaRees.com includes you. I’m such a blessed daddy. I thank God everyday for allowing me to parent such amazing kids. You, Shaya and JT love people more than personal success and that is such a treasure as a parent.

Every parent should want their kids to be about making the world a better place to live. You choose to spread hope, joy and love. Shaya is discovering her purpose but I just know it’s going to be about helping people. JT is still searching but I have confidence he too will choose people over pay. Yes, making money is important but making the world a better place is priceless. I thank you so much for teaching me that!

I hope someday my legacy is as amazing as yours. While that would be cool…my entire focus is making your legacy live on and expand so EVERY kid fighting cancer can have the support and encouragement to NEGU. That is my purpose and I LOVE it.

Speaking of your legacy…100,000 JoyJars! WOW! That is so amazing Jess. Your simple act of kindness has gone global and reached 100,000 kids. That is massive girl. I know you never wanted it to be about you but I hope you thank God for allowing you to be used for such a purpose. I had always hoped my books would sell 100,000 copies but now knowing your JoyJars have reached 100,000 kids I’m so fulfilled. Making an impact is way better than making money.

I love you SOOOOOOOOO much girl. I just want to feel you…kiss you…hold you…and talk to you. Someday, but not today.

xoxo,
daddy
