My Jessie Journal:: My Jessie Journal:: Hi my beautiful Sweet Pea…it’s daddy! As you can tell by this photo I’ve been looking back on your short twelve years of life. This one is in our bedroom and I look at it every day…some days I pick it up and give you a kiss!

I know this will sound kind of weird but I’m going to watch the video of your birth this weekend and think back to the very first time I held you. Mommy and I have so many tears of joy when the dr. said…”It’s a girl.” Shaya was so excited too be have a little sister. We already had your name picked out… Jessica Joy Rees.

In so many ways you were a perfect baby. You ate and you spelt…it was a nice blessing after a hard first year with Shaya. So thankful Nana was around to help us with her and you. When we were first time parents we had no clue what we were doing it was so nice to have someone like Nana and Papa to help us.  We were so nervous and scared we would screw things up.

Now that you are in Heaven cheering for us, Mommy and I get to help other families that were just told…“Your child has cancer”. The total opposite array of emotions flood your heart, mind and soul when you hear that statement. I have had a lot of families reach out to me via the new iNEGU app and send videos in asking for help or even prayer. I’m so honored and humbled I get to help these people in the darkest of times. It truly kind of makes our loss a little more palatable knowing it wasn’t in vain.

Jess, could you ask the Big Guy for a favor? We just got word we have to move the JoyFactory and I’m a little worried about finding a new home for us. We have grown so much so we can’t move it back into our garage…LOL. Although that would be fun to return to the place it all started. We just need wisdom and some connections to another super kind and compassionate landlord that has a heart for you. I know they are out there….so if you can show him the same smile in this picture I’m sure he will help us=))).

I miss your smile…your face…your presence so dang much! I will keep holding onto memories and kissing pictures until I see you again…in a wink! Promise!!

xoxo,

daddy
